Follow these 3 simple steps to create your E-commerce Shopify website
Step 1
Sign Up and Set Up Your Store
- Go to Shopify’s website and sign up for their free trial(3 day free trial).
- Fill in your email, password, country/region (you can also sign up with Google, Facebook and Apple ID account).
- Once you’ve filled out the information, click “Create your store” and answer a few brief questions to help Shopify tailor your experience.
Explore Your Admin Dashboard
- After signing up, you’ll land in your Shopify admin dashboard. This is where you’ll manage everything related to your store. Spend some time to familiarizing yourself with the layout and the different sections of admin dashboard.
Step 2
Choose a Theme
- Shopify offers a variety of free and paid themes to choose from. Default theme is “Dawn“.
- Browse the theme store and pick one that suits your brand and products. You can even customize the theme colours, fonts, and layout to make it your own.
Add Your Products
- This is where you showcase what you’ll be selling! Click on “Products” in the sidebar and then “Add product”.
- Fill in the product details like title, description, price, inventory, and high-quality images.
Step 3
Important Settings
- There are a few crucial settings to configure before launching your store.
- Go to “Settings” and navigate to sections like Shipping, Payments, and Taxes to set up how you’ll fulfil orders and accept payments from customers.
Test Your Store (Before Going Live!)
- Before making your store public, it’s important to self test everything thoroughly.
- Preview your store to see how it looks on different devices and make sure the checkout process works smoothly.
Launch Your Store
- In the Menu Shopify admin, go to “Sales channels” and navigate to “Online Store“. There you can remove the password protection and your store will be accessible to the public.
